I just saw this in my company email. I have nothing but beautiful memories of Thomas since the day I met him at Ridgemar Mall over 35 years ago. We were blessed again to see one another at work (American Airlines) Always a true gentleman and friend! He LOVED Delaney so much and always talked so lovingly about his sweet girl. It’s so sad to know he is gone from this earth but look forward to seeing him again! What a beautiful soul. Love you dear friend.

Before Norb married my sister Jan, and we were living in Krum and our father was in the dairy business, Norb came flying over in a small plane. Not low enough to bother the cows. I saw Jan out in the yard waving her arms wanting him to leave. Being the good little brother that I was, I ran to the house and got a shot gun. When she saw it, she started crying. I told her that daddy was going to shoot the damn thing down. Of course, he did not send me after the gun.

I got to share his sons’ journey through Scouts to college to having their own families. Hunting and fishing stories too. He expressed great admiration of Verlyn’s career helping others and appreciation of the full-time job she had keeping him moving in the right direction. Some people walk this earth looking for anyone that can help them in this life. Either they lack confidence in themselves or they just need someone by their side to hold their hand. Nelson you were the exact opposite. You thrived on helping others. You helped others with all kinds of things without question. Sometimes you did things for people without them even asking for help. Like that time you went and bought Uncle Manuel a new tv for the garage. Uncle Manuel was happy and content with his 13” tv. If anyone ask Uncle Manuel if he wanted a new tv, he would have said no. But you, out of the blue, showed up with a brand new tv. Uncle Manuel was to ecstatic and thankful. Or that time you happened to stop by just as I was changing the door knobs on my house. In my own independent self, I argued that I got this (we both knew I had no idea what I was doing) and you told me to step back. I was so thankful that you did because I had already stripped the screws for one knob. Funny thing is you always showed up at exactly the time I needed you without me even asking. You always laughed at my independence and stepped in anyway to lend a hand. I’m so grateful for all the wonderful memories you left in my heart. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in heaven. I love you cousin!

Words cannot express the overwhelming of sadness I'm feeling. When I feel sad & the tears begin to flow, I'm reminded of the kind & wise words of wisdom that Becky would give me. Although she may have been immersed in troubles of her own,she always managed to have time for me & was eager with an open ear. Lord knows she didn't candy coat her opinion, and for that I'm truly thankful. Nonetheless, she always showed me kindness & never failed to say: "I Love You Billy." I'm honored to have had the joy & privilege of calling Becky my sister & friend. She was rooted in true joy & loving others with compassion was her strongest trait. She was not only my sister, but a true friend to me indeed! I'm comforted in knowing that although she cannot walk back here to us,--one day we will see her again when we walk "HOME" to her. Where I know she will be waiting to greet us with open arms. YOUR LOVING BROTHER, Billy (Rusk,TX.)

Oma Brown, as I called her, a name would always strike joy to me, it has always been a blessing to have her in my life an extension of my Uncle Willi who I love so much. My most fond memory is sharing the lake trips with her and then going back to the house and sitting at the "kids table" and fighting over German Potato Salad with William and Uncle Willi. That was my favorite thing and she always made time for me and always saved me a bowl whenever I wanted it and treated me with unwavering love as she did her other grandkids. Making me feel included and never missing a beat to chat about anything that made her laugh. I'll miss her laughter and my favorite line "I don't believe it" in her strong accent whenever she was shocked about something. I'm sorry, we have to lay to rest this wonderful woman but will carry her in my heart forevermore. From my family, my mom, and I God Bless Oma Brown and sorry for your loss. My favorite memory was every Sunday afternoon in my youth. As we would go over grandmother’s house to have one of the many dishes she made after church. The food was rich but her company was richer. Those are all still my favorite dishes today. Her house was warm and welcoming. I had a lot of fun with family and with her. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, even cried. She loved bringing people together and especially loved when all the family was together. I remember Oma as the grandmother that always prayed, never complained, trusted God and would never miss a chance to tell someone else about him. She modeled this faith for me in my youth. Only a few years ago she even evangelized with me after it snowed several inches, that showed her heart for God late in life. She is an amazing example, who had such a testimony in the way she lived. My grandmother is a tremendous person and I will miss her very, very much!

Dearest Rose Although we didn’t see each other much or talk to each other throughout the years (due to moving from the military), you and your family were always in my thoughts. I will never forget that you were the first person who babysat my baby girl Maya. I will never forget you making the best doubled baked potatoes I have ever had. I made it once but it wasn’t nearly as good. It’s because you made yours with love. I will never forget the laughs we shared. When we went to one of the FRC/ASD Christmas party together I remember us being bored together but we still made it fun cuz you are such a fun person to be around. I promise that if we ever get stationed to where Mark and the kids are, my family will be there for them. Whenever I celebrate my birthday, I promise I will be thinking of you cuz we always said April babies are the best. Until we meet again my friend. Rest in Heaven. You will never be forgotten.

To Teri and family. I am deeply sorry for your loss. It is in these moments we realize just how precious time is, we take for granted that our loved ones will always be there. Russell was quite a unique person. I loved his Eastern baroque and that fedora he sported. He was the only person I met that put honey in his coffee. He and I went to get our hair cut once, I recall him saying, I am sure Gale isn’t here, she doesn’t like it this sort. I told him to put the hat on, no one will notice. After reading the obituary, I wish I would have asked more questions . What a novel his life story would make. He will be missed and definitely not forgotten. He was and is a blessing to you all. Godspeed to the family, may the Good Lord send a host of angels to comfort you all.

Wink wink. You opened your home and heart to me while you raised your own girls who also opened their homes and hearts to me. You were outnumbered and drowning in estrogen but maintained your masculine role. Thank you for raising Teri to be who she is. Through her, your memory will always be cherished and memorialized with Bekah, Marcella, and Amy. I know where you are, now, (said Russell never of me and Teri in high school!!!) and your messages of comfort for her have brought peace. Rock on with those awesome mountains you now soar over and keep your eye on Teri and Bekah. I’m joyful knowing that you, Mom, Dad, Walter, Dejana, and Pops are all peacefully making fun of us sharing stories!!! Love eternally, Kelli B

Especially watching you work your ham radios and Morse code machine while watching the smoke of your cigarette float in the air. You were such a bada** to me and will be missed greatly by all of us. You always showed me what hard work was when you directed us to pick up sticks in the huge yard you use to have in Jessup Maryland. I know I complained a lot about it at the time, but looking back at it, you showed me how to suck it up and to keep moving (hard work). I know we lost our ways as we grew older, but I’m sure with more time we would have figured it out. I love you Grand-pop thanks for playing with Pantelis like you did, he will always remember his water gun fight with you. May you fly high with the angels and continue to watch over us. The hunting trips, visits to the gun shows and boxing/UFC fight nights are things I will miss. I thought we would probably lose touch after that, but thankfully we did not! Every time I saw him it was like he never left! It's hard to find friend like that. He was my best man at my wedding, became friends with my wife, my kids loved him. I still check my phone everyday halfway expecting to see a message from him. When we see a bird chirping on a nearby branch, we will know it is you singing to us. When a butterfly brushes gently by, we will know it is you assuring us that you are free and happy. When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches our attention, we will know it is you reminding us to appreciate the simple things in life. When we hear the patter of rain on a window, we will hear your words reminding us that you are doing well. Without the rain, trees and flowers can not grow or bloom. Without life's challenges, we can not grow strong. We will always remember your endless love for family. When we think of the mountains and their majesty and magnificence, we will always remember your courage and love for this country. No matter where we are, your spirit will always be beside us. I had the pleasure of working with Linda at American Airlines for a number of years. She quickly became a good friend of not only myself but of my family and my co-workers. I read she was called the Office Mom at one job. She definitely was ours and was always there to guide us, be an example of a genuinely good person, and to regal us with stories and her humor. And her great laugh! How we all laughed at her tales of her Las Vegas experiences and we all still laugh out loud at some of her wonderful sayings and "Linda-isms". Our personal histories often intertwined, born in the same hospital, very familiar with west Texas, and she even remembers the minister who married my parents. She often said that one day we'd find out we truly are cousins. I didn't need that "someday" because Linda was already my family. Robert, grandkids, and all of Linda's family - you had an amazing woman as matriarch of your family and I'll also consider it a blessing that our paths crossed in life. Love and hugs from the Heath family.

Noah was a student of mine (2001-2004) roughly…he was sometimes a pain in the neck student, but the kind of pain in the neck that you couldn’t help but like; fun, silly-hearted and good natured. I remember he came back after basic training and before he left on orders to say thank you. He was a student that probably left more of an impact on me than I did on him. We connected back up in Facebook, and I got to watch his beautiful family grow for 10+ years. When my son went to AZ for school he was sooo helpful with information even though he was leaving to head to Texas. I was hoping to head out and meet his family in person. Sadly I never got the chance. The last we chatted via messenger he asked if I could help his kids learn sign. I hope I get that chance. He will always be remembered as one of my favorites, a silly heart and good kid, and a good man.

Your wisdom and ideas were endless. My heart is heavy filled with so much pain that you lived your last days with such terror but mostly because of your bravery to have dealt with such pain on your own yet I'm so upset that you didn't reach out when you realized you couldn't. Now we are without an amazing person. Though time will give understanding and accepted the why's that will never be answered. The Burns family was a 2nd home for me for many years. Whether it be traveling to Hawaii with the family or getting in at trouble on the back acres on the property, I knew who was always in charge, and that was Jean. She may have been short in stature but you better behave or she would get up all in your business. However she was the first one to give you a hug or offer you some food or soda when you walked in the house. She was the best female driver I had ever known. I think she once told me Papa Joe let her start driving in the pasture in Ranger when she was like 12 and never looked back. I remember watching her drive with the tips of her toes as she barely reached the petals but could drive and turn around and smack Darren or i in the back seat for acting up without missing a beat. Once when it flooded one summer and Darren, Todd Blue and I got in the canoe where’re the pond flooded and headed down the rushing water towards TCC Marine Creek. We made it to Sokol Road, which seemed like eternity before we got stuck in barbed wire where Jean was waiting for us where before getting in the suburban, she gave us a hug as we scared her to death then turned around and beat out butts. So many good times with Jean and the Burns family as she will truly be missed. I am so thankful I got to spend some in person time and phone time with Jean before her passing.

Tim was quiet, thoughtful, quick-witted, and had a great sense of humor. While he had a great stage presence, he did not feel the need to be the center of attention off the stage. He was strong in his faith and relationships. He is someone to be emulated and he will be missed by all of our family. Tim is with the Lord. May God’s comfort be with Suzanne and all of us missing Tim today and going forward.

I met JC at Motorsport Ranch years ago and enjoyed his company and our conversations more than he ever imagined. Needless to say, I was more than excited when he showed up at our garage one Saturday morning and joined our weekly coffee group that just talked cars and other meaningless things that a group of 70 plus year old car junkies discussed when they have nothing better to do. His last words to me was his apology for not being able to make the next Saturday get together, and that he would see us the following week, so the when we heard of his tragic accident we were understandably shocked and deeply sadden for the lost of this dear friend that we had just become reacquainted with just a few weeks before. JC was such a generous person with his time and patience, explaining the ins and outs of the track to a rookie driver just out trying to have a little fun. We will miss JCs kind words and great sense of humor but his legacy will live on through his wonderful family and countless friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and may he rest in peace; he will be missed but never forgotten.

I was like bro there is something meowing. You had me pop the hood and little baby kitten when down further and you were tripping!!! You were so worried that kitten was gonna get burnt up. The kitten escaped from under my car and you took off to the neighbors across the street. I was like don’t worry about it, it’s safe! You said nauh there’s a mean ol ass cat across the way” goes to show what kind of human Terry was! I’ll be praying for your family and kids and wife. This is a huge loss! Rosemary was my Oldest Sister. I was the youngest in the family of 6.. She entered Nursing Residence when I was about 6 yrs., so we didn't know each other well, as once she had her degree she moved to Portland, Oregon. I visited her when I was about 19 yrs. She had her son Shawn by then and was expecting her 2nd child, Laura. I didn't see her again until I was about 25 yrs.. When she had moved to Texas, living in The Colony I went to see her after she had been in a horrific auto accident. I went to help out her and her family . I became close to her daughter Laura at that time. The family was looking for a new home to move to at the time. I went down the next time when her daughter was to wed. I had the privilege of being her Maid of Honour., with Rosemary's son Shawn presiding as Minister over the Ceremony.. My last visit was Sept. of 2016. I went to visit, as her health was deteriorating. This would be the last time I would see her before her passing. I loved her dearly and miss her to this day. She was one of the finest people I know. I was blessed to have her as my Sister. I always felt we had a close connection. We had similar interests, in that we loved our families, horses, cats and dogs. We both worked very diligently at our professions. We enjoyed dressing coordinated. We enjoyed accessorizing with matching jewellery, scarves, shoes etc. We both travelled extensively with our careers. We loved deeply and gave truly from our hearts to family and friends. I am part of her legacy, she remains a part of me and I a part of her. I sometimes hear her in my own voice, as they were similar. Sometimes it is like hearing her echo. I will always love and miss her. She came to visit our Mother several times over the years, where I also live. Mother passed away in 2019, 2 yrs. after we lost Rosemary. Mother took the loss of Rosemary very hard. She passed at the age of 95. Rosemary's family and I keep in touch, however, it is not quite the same with her absence. I know she resides in heaven, as, where else would an angel be!

I just found out about Billy and am heart broken. Eventhough I know where Billy is now, we morn not having him here. I met Billy about 20 yrs ago when he had just started his business. He drove an old truck and was a one man show. He came to our home and fixed a huge problem that our remodlers plumbers had left. Billy worked late into the night without one complaint and just kept saying , " Dont worry Darling, you and your family will have water before I go." My dogs loved him! I can still see him sitting in his truck working on his bill with the light from the cab. He was surrounded by my dogs who had climed up in the cab with him. He would take a second from time to time to pet them and exchange nuzzles. I have used him ever since and yes he has pulled me out of many scrapes. Anyone who ever asked me for a plumbing referral I would tell my story about him and his dedication, not only to his trade, but to making you his friend and a customer for life. You will be so missed Billy. Please pet and nuzzle the four legged babies of mine you loved and have gone on before you. Save all of us a place. Our hearts are broken here and we want to be with you for sure on the other side.

What honor to call Rupert Harrell a friend. I had the honor of being in Bible school with Rupert. Just a few years after I graduated, I assumed the pastorate of a wonderful church in Valley Center, Kansas. I followed Rupert and Myra and our connection became stronger during those days. I then rejoiced as Rupert pivoted again into a ministry that was built around all that his life experience had brought to him. He truly lived for God, sincerely loved his family, and openly shared his life with every person who came his way. Every phone call with him was so inspiring and every communication that he sent out focused on the God he loved and those he served. I am honored to be Rupert’s friend, one of the many I know … but I am so glad that I was among that number. Only heaven can accurately measure the impact of his life but I am absolutely certain that his reward will be great. I loved him and I know that he loved me as well! Praying now for all the family and friends!

Rupert was a distant cousin to me and I’m not even really sure how or where we fit in that family tree but I do know he loved his family no matter the distance between us physically or how far down that family tree we were. He showed much interest in keeping a connection between us all as the elders in our family moved on to heaven. I will always be grateful for his shoulder to lean on and his listening ears when my Mom and then my brother passed. His last trip to NC he made it a point to come to Wilson and have dinner with me. I got to meet some other family that I had never met. He was great at being a family man and most of all his love of country and pride he took in helping others was unmatched. We had planned that one day soon I would join him on a trip to Vietnam so he could show me where my Uncle was KIA He was so proud of my Uncle Butch and loved my grandmother something fierce. I can remember as a young girl and into my adult years Rupert being the glue that kept us all connected. He called me after he got out of the hospital after being soooo sick with pneumonia and he sounded good and was looking forward to being able to get out and on his motorcycle. I was shocked to hear of his passing. You will be missed greatly! Thank you for caring about me and our whole family. You were a special soul. Much love and prayers to his family! Hug everyone in heaven for me and kiss my Mama!

When live is very busy I think about when I would call Buf and ask "How are you bud?" and his response is one I still use today. I started working for Larry when i was 15 years old. I was homeschooled so i had a lot of free time on my hands so Larry kept me busy and out of trouble. We sanded the bottom of sail boats, fixed fences, built his porch, built garden planters, spent a lot of time out on the lakes installing and fixing boat lifts, and you can bet your butt when there was no work to be done i would be weed wacking. I will always be grateful to Larry for teaching the meaning of a hard days work. He was an amazing and considerate man. Everyday we worked he would buy his employees lunch. He went above and beyond for us. Larry inspired me to chase my dreams which led to me joining the US Navy. I have had the good fortune to know and work with Doug throughout his time at what was then General Dynamics and now Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. Although his college and professional team preferences were not mine (and it made for the opportunity for good natured kidding to occur), we did share similar social and political view points - and I always enjoyed hearing his thoughts and his "take" on any specific subject - and he was not shy about giving it :). Additionally, Doug was a very gifted and talented to man with varied electrical and mechanical skills that few have mastered quite like him and he will surely be missed by all. In discussions with Doug I could tell he was very proud of his family and loved them very much - that was absolute. May his family find a measure of peace in the good memories and love that you all shared together. Regards, Charlie Talley

Patti, A bedrock on our little street. A mainstay in our Lake Country community, who left little sprinkles of herself in our lives, on this street. Through her encouragement, goodness, non-judgementalism, kindness, care, and serving others. So many times she would stop to compliment me on my yard art, my Christmas tree, my hairstyle, or just to give an encouraging word. Then, all the times I saw her helping others. The vivid example of her stedfast love for her daughters. These were acts that show forth the witness of her faith. The impression on the hearts and minds of her neighbors. Her little lighted candle glowed on our street. Now, there is such a void here and she is sorely missed. These are just small accounts of her testimony she left on this earth. Though she was unaware, she made such a difference here. There is a now a void on our street since she has passed. Our hearts and prayers go out to all her family. Jamie and Stacy, we are so sorry for your loss. Love and life in Jesus, Jerry and Brenda.

She looked right at me and said, "I'm sure you are a quilter!" and gave me a big hug. She was right. In 1992, she helped me quilt a full-size quilt in less than three weeks, as a favor to my mom for her to give as a Christmas gift. We did it, quilting every evening - with her on one side of the quilt and I on the other! I treasure the letters she sent after we moved from Texas. She was a dear soul!!

Their boat was one of the few sailboats, like ours, without mechanical refrigeration. I organized twice weekly deliveries of block ice to the yacht club and Carol was a regular customer. They sailed west and later, from Texas, we corresponded via email. I always looked forward to Carol's emails. I went to school and told everyone that Jerry was my boyfriend. It worked too because he went to Lake Worth and I went to Azle. He was my fake boyfriend for the rest of the school year. Jerry and I reconnected and I told him that story and he got the biggest kick out of it. I loved to see him smile. He has always been such a good friend to me and I'll miss him terribly in this life. But, one day we will be United in Glory...of that I'm sure. It will all be different then, but I'll know Jerry. "In death, perhaps I'll lose you, but I want you to know you were the one."

Even though you are not here with me physically you are in my heart every day. ♥ I miss you so much. I talk about you every day with your brother and sisters. Audrey still doesn't quite understand your gone and ask if I could go and just get you back. I wish so badly it worked like that. I love you baby. I miss you. I dont thinknit will ever stop hurting. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ely family in your time of grief. Catherine was a good friend and I cherish all the memories I have of her, C.L., Tammy, Jimmy, and Randy. Catherine, Tammy, and I kept in touch via phone throughout the years although we only got to see each other three times since the '70s. Catherine was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Knowing she is whole once again, is no longer suffering, and is reunited with C.L. and Tammy makes the loss easier to bear. In my mind, I can envision the homecoming/welcoming celebration in Heaven with her family members, most of whom I knew, that had entered the gates before her.

Our tour in Hawaii was a great tour of duty with the Marines. The highlight of that tour was the people we met. Jerry was one of those people. It was a true pleasure knowing and working with Jerry. He was the consummate professional who would work long hours to correct a problem or search for the solution to solve the problem and prevent it from happening again. He was a person that everyone wanted on ‘their team.’ But it went beyond that, Jerry was a great human being. He would do anything for anyone. We were fortunate to live on the same street as Jerry and his family. Our young daughter would affectionately call Jerry “Flipper” whenever she would see him. We all would call him Flipper, not only because that was his nickname, but because he would beam with a smile whenever you called him Flipper. He was liked by everyone. There were several times he kept me out of trouble and conversely, when I kept him out of trouble. He was a true friend, a friend to our entire family. May God bless Scott and his entire family with his peace and comfort during this time of bereavement. Know that Jerry is in a better place without pain. It takes a long time to get used to the loss of someone we love, but it’s important to remember that when people die, they leave something very special behind – They leave us memories of many things they said and did. Let us cherish those memories forever. And as long as we have those memories, the people we love will live on in our hearts and minds. For Scott, nothing can ever replace the wisdom, advice, and love of a good father. May you find comfort in remembering all the guidance, strength and love with which your father touched your life. Those precious gifts and memories will always live on with you. May you find comfort in lasting memories and hope in brighter tomorrows. Fred & Jean Geier
