Margaret and I went to South Padre Island in late April of 2019 on a birding trip. We did see quite a few new birds, especially migrating warblers, so that was fun. We also went to the beach when people were flying huge kites. One team invited Margaret to help them get their kite up and she really enjoyed that. I posted a picture of her with the kite in the event section. We did not know that we were going down there on the same weekend as the largest gay pride event in the South. It was a crazy weekend but we had a lot of fun. She was feeling good then so was unbelievable that she would be diagnosed with ALS and be gone within eleven months. She was a good friend, from our days at Kaiser Permanente in the late 80’s until the end!

Even though I am no longer married into the family, this will always be family in my heart. Lloyd and Cheryl went out of their way to always make sure the family stayed connected by having regular family dinner gatherings. My heart goes out to Lloyd, Butch, Donna and every other member of this special family. She will be dearly missed.

Kourtney and Baker ... she was so very proud of the two of you and the wonderful adults you have become. Debbie and her retreat "moo-moos will be missed." Sassy as she wanted to be, she would turn heads at the drop of a hat with her stunning beauty and amazing long auburn hair. Everybody envied that long auburn hair of hers! One of the best memories that always comes to mind is that of Jen and her cousin Sheri and I in Sheri’s living room and seeing Jen dance around with Sheri’s daughter, Jessica. Jen loved that little girl. She would dance and sing to her while Jessica would laugh and laugh. Pure happiness in that moment. It will always make me smile. After marriage, I sadly moved away and our friendship just got lost in time as so many of the best friendships do in life. But I’ll never forget her infectious laugh, her beautifully wild spirit and her deep and endless love for her family and friends. She is sorely missed and will never be forgotten.

I have no word for what great loss this is. I loved Dylan. He was one of the few boys I loved and found to be a good influence over the years. I have not seen him since 2017 but I never fathomed that would be the last time. He always was so respectful, kind, and sweet...Just a sweet natured person. I can't imagine this world without such an amazing young man in it. My heart goes out to the family and I have and I will continue in prayers for you. Dylan was an absolutely amazing child. May our Lord Jesus hold him and keep him in everlastin love until we meet again. Many hugs for the family.

Debbie’s obituary is beautifully written and perfectly her. She was exuberant. She was a blessing. I met her when I arrived in Chinju, South Korea. She was the mama bear of the ladies’ group, to both Americans and Koreans! She was also a shameless back seat driver when I drove us around in my old car “Mabel”. I too look forward to seeing her again in heaven one day!

Hey buddy, it broke my heart to hear the news. I’m so sorry Renae… and to all the friends and family I’ve met over the years through and because of you. You were my first real friend here, you took me under your wing & made sure I was safe and had a person here and a place to go when things were the hardest in my life. I was always in awe of your art, the sheer talent and good nature you possessed, your knowledge and love of and passion for so many interesting and obscure things and your crazy style and weird sense of humor that became a part of my life and things I enjoy, because of your presence in my life. I’ll always treasure all the pictures and videos from our apartment and the years after, all those crazy fun times we had in our 20s together, working at Saltgrass together, taking you back to Ohio with me for a crazy ass weekend, and all the times in between and since. I regret that I haven’t seen you in so long and now I’ll never get the chance to have one of your huge, genuine hugs ever again. Rest well, old friend. I hope you’re skating like a pro, making bad ass art, and living free now. Miss you forever. <3

Debbie and I met in Japan and became fast friends. She had a passion for quilting that was catching and, before I knew it, she taught me to quilt. Just recently, I picked up a project we were doing together in Japan called Miniature Magic. It had tiny blocks to teach us how to be precise. In those moments of us selecting fabrics and sewing, we shared our lives. I enjoyed being with her, listening to her laugh, and attribute my love of quilting to Debbie. Outside of quilting, we traveled and shared holidays together. She made us laugh often with her quick quips. I especially loved her one-liners like “hold your pose”. I will always treasure our friendship and look forward to seeing her again someday. Love you friend!

I did not have the pleasure of meeting this amazing woman, I read about, but would have loved to know her personally. Instead I do have the pleasure of meeting her son “Baker” who was raised by such a beautiful soul, and obviously show the values and morals bestowed in him. My thoughts and prayers are with my friend and his family through their loss. May the good Lord provide you with his presence and comfort. God bless you all ♥️

Thinking of Wayne, Courtney, Baker, Brandon, and all those that loved Debbie. Debbie was a beautiful soul and blessed so many of us during her life. Our paths crossed when I was a young mother of a one year older living in a foreign country. Debbie became my second mom and my daughter called her Grammy. She and I were together nearly daily during this very special time in our lives. She was quick to calm my overly anxious tendencies raising my daughter. She taught me the ropes of living in Korea. She loved to sew my daughter many precious outfits. Eventually we ended up in the Fort Worth area and Debbie and Wayne followed. I had a second daughter and the two of them bestowed their love on both of our children. Debbie would come over Christmas morning before the kids woke up just to capture their expressions. Debbie was a gift to our family and our life in Korea and Fort Worth would not have been the same without her in it. We will miss Debbie (Grammy). We send our love.

I always loved the deep bass voice of Big John Hall. The best rendition I ever heard of "It's My Desire" was the one John performed on a REVIVALTIME broadcast I guess back in the late '70s or early '80s. I was working in Christian radio at the time and made a cassette copy of that song from the broadcast tape. I still have that after all these years, and it still thrills me to hear it. What made it so special . . . it was just John singing to the accompaniment of a Hammond B3 organ. Don't know who the organist was --- someone on the REVIVALTIME team obviously --- but I will always treasure that song. No one in my opinion has ever done it better. I will request it when I get to Heaven!!

Bobby had been part of my life for nearly 30 years. He was both a good friend, but also a wonderful artist to collaborate with. Bobby's talent ranged so far and wide, it's hard to believe that one person could product as much art as he was able to in the 64+ years of his life. He was an inspiration and mentor to me with my own work, but also a dear and beloved friend with whom I'd spend hours on the phone with chatting about this and that. Bobby was once of the funniest people I ever met. His drole and laconic humor was such that if you weren't paying attention, some of his classic one-liners or funny quips would be missed. I'm sure other friends feel as I do: Bobby was so much more than a very good friend. He was the older brother you sometimes wished you had always had, who, after boxing you around the ears as kid, would immediately turn around and give you a huge bear hug with those huge hands and arms of his. I will miss you, brother.

Uncle George will be missed by all his nieces and nephews across the country. He is the last of his generation that was loved so very much. George lived with Mom and I for a few years during the war, so he was like a "big brother" to much fun and so many great memories with him and all his friends.... always a smile and a laugh.....just as my brother mentions in an earlier post. I send my deepest sympathy to all my TX cousins and to Aunt Grace.

He was always known for his love of family, friends, and looked forward to friends he had not met. We will miss him forever…Rich, Carol Gibson and family

I have several memories of Shaggy. We had several classes together in school. Lunch. After school hang outs. Our conversations. 3 way calls. I know we drove Miss Jeanette crazy with the phone calls and Jessica with the kid crazy music and dancing. When I first met him, it was an instant connection. Both military kids both fans of Scooby doo. I remember when the movie came out. We went across the street from school to the music store 'On Cue'. When cds were still a hit. On the counter were boxes and boxes of cookie crackers cakes 'Scooby Snacks'. I think we bought the stock and saw the movie 4 times. He hated having his picture taken then which is why the only picture I have is literally the back of his head. I have many more memories of him and I'm so thankful for the time we shared together in and out of high school. He was so proud when he got his car he drove to Granbury where I lived and showed it off. His baby. We were the lucky ones to have you in our lives Shaggy. You will be missed dearly.

I met Trina over the internet as she was researching life in Boothbay Maine as you had just bought a home on the peninsula. She stumbled upon my name through a non profit event “Set For Success” I was in charge of on the peninsula. Trina was excited to learn more more about the yearly effort gifting school supplies to all students here. The Lord truly amazed both of us as it did not take long to realize you both would be “Neighbors Across The Way”. Once you settled into your gorgeous antique farmhouse our relationship began. Trina and I got to know one another by texting or emailing one another most every morning before she began working from home. We had tea and worked together at the American Legion Auxiliary, she volunteered at Set For Success each summer, but most importantly we lifted one another up through our shared belief in Jesus Christ. So many lessons, so many hugs, breakfasts, lunches, dinner together and a multitude of blessings over the shortened time you lived in Boothbay. My heart is broken over her loss but Trina knew where she was going and is wrapped in the arms of her Savior. Memories of goodness surround me here. Trina was a gorgeous soul that shared amazing goodness to all she came along beside. Her Love lives on in my heart.

Tom and will pray for our Lord, Jesus Christ, to hold you close and bring some sense of comfort to you and your lovely family, and be surrounded by the Holy Spirit as you walk through this next journey. She is an example of Proverbs 31:10 - 31. A few examples she was : she is worth far more than rubies, she sets about her work vigorously, she opens her hands to the poor, she makes linen garments and sells them, she is clothed with strength and dignity, charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting , give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring praise at the city gate . Donna you are now in heavens beautiful realm. I am going to look you up girlfriend when I get there! Rest in Orace dear one .

We didn’t have much but we were rich in love. I have so many sweet memories of life when she was living at home and afterwards. When I was about to transfer from Rawls Springs to Junior High at North Forrest I came down with the mumps. I had to stay with her since I had already exposed them. That was not a bad thing for me. Being with her made me feel better about going to a new school having missed the 1st 2 weeks. She loved me so much that she wondered if she would be able to love her own as much as me. When she had her children there was no longer any worries about whether she would love them as much. She loves Stephen, Susan & Robert immeasurably along with their spouses. She loved her Grandkids & the Greats too. I’m so thankful & blessed that I got to call her my Sister. I love you Margie

Richard and I met Bubba in June of 1979. He was a friend , more like a little brother and it stayed that way over 40 years. Bubba was one of a kind, he was funny , loyal and generous , he never met anyone that wasn’t a friend. He loved to play music and Richard would sing. We would hang out at the horses everyday and go on trail rides. Bubba , Richard, and Mike Lemmer would play and sing and the next thing we knew the whole camp ground came over and partied with us. They would all sing along, cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows on our fire . He called us all the time to check on us and especially the holidays because that was the kind of man he was. We were planning to meet him in Texas this summer. The last phone call was right before Thanksgiving. He always had a joke to tell. He loved to laugh and tell jokes. We will miss him so much . We still can’t believe he is gone. We love you Bubba Rest In Peace until we see you again.

We were young and full of ourselves when I first met Phil Land, so my first impression evades me. But I can easily say that my lasting impression was respect and admiration. It has been thirty-something years since I last saw Phil, but his name would come up often while talking to mutual friends. I think that speaks volumes of the impression he made on people who knew him. I have not seen him in all these years, but I miss him already. My heart aches for his family and friends.

Kelly Brock posted on 1/7/22

I came across the most wonderful and befitting poem. I thought I would share it here, particularly for Teresa Morenus and family, but also for any others who knew Phil and who are grieving his loss at this time. "I Know You’ll Miss This Man" By Baxter Black The Lord spoke to the heavy hearts that stood with hats in hand “Your sadness pains me deeply and I know you’ll miss this man. But, it’s true what you’ve been hearing, Heaven is a real place. That’s no small consolation. You should use that fact to face The emptiness his parting left that seeps into your bones, And draw on it to ease your pain, for he is not alone. You see, all his friends are up here and all his loved ones too. ‘Cause it wouldn’t be a Heaven without each one of you. And heaven for a cowboy is just what you might expect. It’s horses that need tunin’ up and heifers that need checked. It’s long rides with a purpose and a code that lights the way, And a satisfying reason to get up every day. It’s the ranch he’s always dreamed of and never knew he’d find. And if you think about it, you can see it in your mind. Him, leanin’ in the saddle with his ol’ hat on his head, Contentment set upon his face like blankets on a bed. The leather creaks a little as he shifts there in the seat. The bit chains give a jingle when his pony switches feet. And you somehow get the feelin’ that he’s sittin’ on a throne, A’gazin’ out on paradise just like it was his own. I can promise you he’s happy, though I know you can’t pretend You’re glad he made the journey; It’s too hard to comprehend. The earthly way you look at things can never satisfy Your lack of understanding for the answer to the ‘Why?’ So, I offer this small comfort to put your grief to rest, I only take the top hands ‘cause my crew’s the very best. And I know it might seem selfish to friends and next of kin, But I needed one more cowboy and Phil fit right in.”

The funny stories about her mischievous brothers will be missed but not forgotten. The stories of an early to mid 1900’s Fort Worth were fascinating. Jimmy and I were roommates and "stick buddies" while learning to fly OH-13 (Bell 47) helicopters at the US Army Primary Helicopter School in Ft Wolters, TX. One of my best memories of Jimmy was after getting back from the flight line one hot summer afternoon in 1969, he came out of the showers and was bopping down the corridor of the barracks wearing nothing but a towel and singing "Jeremiah was a bullfrog . . . was a good friend of mine. . . ." (from Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World") at the top of his lungs. I remember meeting Linda back then, also. We weren't in the same flight school class at Ft Rucker and we wound up in different units in Vietnam, so we lost track of each other. In late 1994 we got together again as I spent three weeks in Ft Worth getting a Bell 412 type-rating. Jimmy was in town to visit his Dad, and we were able to spend quite a bit of time catching up. I found out the helicopter my employer had bought for import into Australia was the exact same machine Jimmy had been flying in Florida. Over the next 25 years Jimmy and I stayed in touch and caught up whenever we happened to be in the same part of the world at the same time. I last visited Linda and Jimmy in Ft Collins, CO, in 2018 - but whenever we got together it was like we'd only seen each other a few weeks before. He leaves a big hole in our lives. My deepest sympathy to Linda and the girls in their loss. What a great friend, a great pilot and a great American.

Dear Hank, I have only fond memories of our working relationship in the short period I worked at Uncle Mack's piano store at 16 yrs old. You were easy going and kind and I like you a lot. Decades later, within our FB relationship, I was amazed in great respect to see what you went on to accomplish in life in the police force. My heart broke for you when you lost your beloved wife and I felt so powerless to help you in your deep grieving. I know that you are in His eternal presence now and in the presence of your dearly loved wife. You were a tremendous value and loss to all those who were 'Left Behind', but honestly, I breathed a sense of release and peace, knowing what freedom and eternal peace/rest you are in now, that greatly surpasses the overwhelming pain you had in your last days on earth. Shalom, brother. You were an excellent man.

Jimmy was with the FL Fish and Game Comm when I first met him. He was flying a B47 at the time so that tells you how long ago it was. I was with the PBSO Aviation Unit. He eventually left the FGC to join the PBSO Aviation Unit. He came on board to pilot the new B412 the county was getting for medical which was the original "Trauma Hawk" and we were so lucky to have him. We were in 412 training in Ft Worth when a bunch of us went to Billy Bobs after class one night and somehow or another the next day everybody in class was called a something Bob, even one of the instructors we called Alicia Bob. So that's how I started calling Jimmy "Jim Bob" and it has stuck ever since. Even all the other pilots and friends were calling him "Jim Bob". I never knew if he was offended by it because he was such a happy go lucky guy he never showed a temper or was known to get angry. Jim Bob and I became good friends and I got to know his family over the years who he truly loved and was so proud of. I know Jim Bob is hovering around somewhere up in heaven right now, farewell my friend.

I might be a little bit jealous with you, Lillie and Barbara up there, and I didn't get invited. So "count years as months, count the months as weeks, count the weeks as days, any day now, we TOO will be going home." I will see you 'THERE." You all shout for me, until I can touch down with you. It feels like a little bit of Pentecost shifted upward. Cannot say goodbye, only see you soon. You made me feel loved and special every time I saw you. I knew church was going to be better when you walked in, because you are a carrier of the ministry of PRESENCE. "I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as I live, my Pentecostal friend you will be." "For so an ENTRANCE shall be ministered unto Marilyn ABUNDANTLY into the Kingdom of Heaven...ABUNDANT ENTRANCE--that would be YOU! II Peter 1:11 paraphrase Later, Friend...Adonna Otwell

I loved and admired my Aunt Clairlynn all my life. I will never forget the time she came to Florida to visit my family when I was five and joked that I could go back with her. My little suitcase was already packed and I was devastated to find out she was only kidding. I will miss her but I know that one day we will see each other again in Heaven.

I miss her so much. She was not only my sister, she was my best friend. We talked almost every day. She loved the Lord and is now with Him in her new Heavenly body, feeling no pain, and dancing on those streets of gold. I know I will see her again someday.

Lety was a blessing who forever changed my life. Our conversations made me realize my focus was not in the right place. Her generosity and compassion for others, even when she was facing her own battle, showed me what it means to truly put others first. I didn’t have the honor of her friendship for long but her impact on my life will forever be felt. I pray God Hilda her in his loving arms and allows her a peaceful rest. Love you, Lety.

I have so many fond memories of Travis and the time spent with him, my husband and many friends. There are too many stories to tell, but they'll be treasured. I'm deeply saddened and I'm not great with words in this type of matter. I hope family can be brought some peace during this time. My heart goes out to his wife , parents, brother and sons.

Jeff, we haven't met very often, but our encounters have left an indelible impression. We don't know anyone else with such a powerful charisma and genuine interest in other people's views as you had. You will remain in our memory as a loving, cordial and strongly committed personality. You will be missed.
