Gary was a staple in my life for almost 40 years. He was a father figure and friend. I have so many great memories including him taking me to my first Texas Rangers game and letting Shadi and I get our own ice cream in a mini helmet.❤️He was a special man and Gare-Bear has left an imprint on my life that I am so grateful for. We love you! Your smile, hugs and conversations will missed horribly. Rest In Peace until I see you again and get that hug.

God bless Sigi. It’s been so many years, and I don’t know if her children will see this condolence, but my mother, Dolly Gundrum, and I lived next door to the Brown family when they lived in Lebanon, PA. My mom, who passed away in 2010, adored Sigi, and the two of them used to have some good laughs. I thought Sigi was so beautiful, and the times she came to our house was always a delight. I don’t know why, but I thought of Sigi today and decided to search online to see if I could find out what happened to her. As soon as I saw her photo, I knew it was her, although the long black hair she once had was no more. I’m sorry to see she passed away, but like my mother, it looks like she had a wonderful life. I’m glad my mother and I had the pleasure of knowing her.

Dear Comadre Sandra, Denise, Christina, Roger & Randy: Our condolences to all of you. There are many fond memories of Roger from me and Velia. One memory that I will never forget was the time that I spent time in Bernalillo with Roger when we were very young. We went horseback riding to the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. When we got there, we were enjoying the views, etc. Roger suddenly began shouting that we were surrounded by Indians. We proceeded to hightail it back to Bernalillo. We always got a kick out of this. Of course, it was all in the fun of it. Needless to say, our cousin and Compa Roger will be greatly missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all.

Bobby had been part of my life for nearly 30 years. He was both a good friend, but also a wonderful artist to collaborate with. Bobby's talent ranged so far and wide, it's hard to believe that one person could product as much art as he was able to in the 64+ years of his life. He was an inspiration and mentor to me with my own work, but also a dear and beloved friend with whom I'd spend hours on the phone with chatting about this and that. Bobby was once of the funniest people I ever met. His drole and laconic humor was such that if you weren't paying attention, some of his classic one-liners or funny quips would be missed. I'm sure other friends feel as I do: Bobby was so much more than a very good friend. He was the older brother you sometimes wished you had always had, who, after boxing you around the ears as kid, would immediately turn around and give you a huge bear hug with those huge hands and arms of his. I will miss you, brother.

I have several memories of Shaggy. We had several classes together in school. Lunch. After school hang outs. Our conversations. 3 way calls. I know we drove Miss Jeanette crazy with the phone calls and Jessica with the kid crazy music and dancing. When I first met him, it was an instant connection. Both military kids both fans of Scooby doo. I remember when the movie came out. We went across the street from school to the music store 'On Cue'. When cds were still a hit. On the counter were boxes and boxes of cookie crackers cakes 'Scooby Snacks'. I think we bought the stock and saw the movie 4 times. He hated having his picture taken then which is why the only picture I have is literally the back of his head. I have many more memories of him and I'm so thankful for the time we shared together in and out of high school. He was so proud when he got his car he drove to Granbury where I lived and showed it off. His baby. We were the lucky ones to have you in our lives Shaggy. You will be missed dearly.

I met Trina over the internet as she was researching life in Boothbay Maine as you had just bought a home on the peninsula. She stumbled upon my name through a non profit event “Set For Success” I was in charge of on the peninsula. Trina was excited to learn more more about the yearly effort gifting school supplies to all students here. The Lord truly amazed both of us as it did not take long to realize you both would be “Neighbors Across The Way”. Once you settled into your gorgeous antique farmhouse our relationship began. Trina and I got to know one another by texting or emailing one another most every morning before she began working from home. We had tea and worked together at the American Legion Auxiliary, she volunteered at Set For Success each summer, but most importantly we lifted one another up through our shared belief in Jesus Christ. So many lessons, so many hugs, breakfasts, lunches, dinner together and a multitude of blessings over the shortened time you lived in Boothbay. My heart is broken over her loss but Trina knew where she was going and is wrapped in the arms of her Savior. Memories of goodness surround me here. Trina was a gorgeous soul that shared amazing goodness to all she came along beside. Her Love lives on in my heart.

A few examples she was : she is worth far more than rubies, she sets about her work vigorously, she opens her hands to the poor, she makes linen garments and sells them, she is clothed with strength and dignity, charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting , give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring praise at the city gate . We didn’t have much but we were rich in love. I have so many sweet memories of life when she was living at home and afterwards. When I was about to transfer from Rawls Springs to Junior High at North Forrest I came down with the mumps. I had to stay with her since I had already exposed them. That was not a bad thing for me. Being with her made me feel better about going to a new school having missed the 1st 2 weeks. She loved me so much that she wondered if she would be able to love her own as much as me. When she had her children there was no longer any worries about whether she would love them as much. She loves Stephen, Susan & Robert immeasurably along with their spouses. She loved her Grandkids & the Greats too. I’m so thankful & blessed that I got to call her my Sister. I love you Margie

Bubba was one of a kind, he was funny , loyal and generous , he never met anyone that wasn’t a friend. He loved to play music and Richard would sing. We would hang out at the horses everyday and go on trail rides. Bubba , Richard, and Mike Lemmer would play and sing and the next thing we knew the whole camp ground came over and partied with us. They would all sing along, cook hot dogs and roast marshmallows on our fire . He called us all the time to check on us and especially the holidays because that was the kind of man he was. We were planning to meet him in Texas this summer. The last phone call was right before Thanksgiving. He always had a joke to tell. He loved to laugh and tell jokes. We will miss him so much . We still can’t believe he is gone. We love you Bubba Rest In Peace until we see you again.

I came across the most wonderful and befitting poem. I thought I would share it here, particularly for Teresa Morenus and family, but also for any others who knew Phil and who are grieving his loss at this time. "I Know You’ll Miss This Man" By Baxter Black The Lord spoke to the heavy hearts that stood with hats in hand “Your sadness pains me deeply and I know you’ll miss this man. But, it’s true what you’ve been hearing, Heaven is a real place. That’s no small consolation. You should use that fact to face The emptiness his parting left that seeps into your bones, And draw on it to ease your pain, for he is not alone. You see, all his friends are up here and all his loved ones too. ‘Cause it wouldn’t be a Heaven without each one of you. And heaven for a cowboy is just what you might expect. It’s horses that need tunin’ up and heifers that need checked. It’s long rides with a purpose and a code that lights the way, And a satisfying reason to get up every day. It’s the ranch he’s always dreamed of and never knew he’d find. And if you think about it, you can see it in your mind. Him, leanin’ in the saddle with his ol’ hat on his head, Contentment set upon his face like blankets on a bed. The leather creaks a little as he shifts there in the seat. The bit chains give a jingle when his pony switches feet. And you somehow get the feelin’ that he’s sittin’ on a throne, A’gazin’ out on paradise just like it was his own. I can promise you he’s happy, though I know you can’t pretend You’re glad he made the journey; It’s too hard to comprehend. The earthly way you look at things can never satisfy Your lack of understanding for the answer to the ‘Why?’ So, I offer this small comfort to put your grief to rest, I only take the top hands ‘cause my crew’s the very best. And I know it might seem selfish to friends and next of kin, But I needed one more cowboy and Phil fit right in.”

To Barb’s family: I worked with Barb at the power plant in Arizona. Barb was one of only a few women in the industry at the time. She rose to the challenge and was brave and stood her ground and was a mentor to new people, men and women. This was not an industry for lightweights and Barb held her own and was considered an expert in her area of expertise. Not only that but she was FUN. She was an inspiration to me and for other women in the power plant.

Our dear Aunt Margaret was the matriarch of our family. She looked after everyone and was always concerned with everyone’s well being. We always had fun traveling to North Carolina, Branson, Missouri, and even Graceland in Tennessee. The family stories of long forgotten relations will be missed as Aunt Margaret remembered all distant relative’s names into her 90’s. The funny stories about her mischievous brothers will be missed but not forgotten. The stories of an early to mid 1900’s Fort Worth were fascinating. Our dear Aunt Margaret was the last of The O.C. & Robbie Jenkins family. I know she was greeted in heaven with arms wide open.

She taught me to drive in the parking lot of Security Bank in a car without power steering--SHE turned. I thought all cars had that problem. ha! She took me to take the driving test, tennis lessons. But the most wonderful thing about Peggy was she was my mother's friend-GOOD friend for 60 years.

Jimmy and I were roommates and "stick buddies" while learning to fly OH-13 (Bell 47) helicopters at the US Army Primary Helicopter School in Ft Wolters, TX. One of my best memories of Jimmy was after getting back from the flight line one hot summer afternoon in 1969, he came out of the showers and was bopping down the corridor of the barracks wearing nothing but a towel and singing "Jeremiah was a bullfrog . . . was a good friend of mine. . . ." (from Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World") at the top of his lungs. I remember meeting Linda back then, also. We weren't in the same flight school class at Ft Rucker and we wound up in different units in Vietnam, so we lost track of each other. In late 1994 we got together again as I spent three weeks in Ft Worth getting a Bell 412 type-rating. Jimmy was in town to visit his Dad, and we were able to spend quite a bit of time catching up. I found out the helicopter my employer had bought for import into Australia was the exact same machine Jimmy had been flying in Florida. Over the next 25 years Jimmy and I stayed in touch and caught up whenever we happened to be in the same part of the world at the same time. I last visited Linda and Jimmy in Ft Collins, CO, in 2018 - but whenever we got together it was like we'd only seen each other a few weeks before. He leaves a big hole in our lives. My deepest sympathy to Linda and the girls in their loss. What a great friend, a great pilot and a great American.

Dear Hank, I have only fond memories of our working relationship in the short period I worked at Uncle Mack's piano store at 16 yrs old. You were easy going and kind and I like you a lot. Decades later, within our FB relationship, I was amazed in great respect to see what you went on to accomplish in life in the police force. My heart broke for you when you lost your beloved wife and I felt so powerless to help you in your deep grieving. I know that you are in His eternal presence now and in the presence of your dearly loved wife. You were a tremendous value and loss to all those who were 'Left Behind', but honestly, I breathed a sense of release and peace, knowing what freedom and eternal peace/rest you are in now, that greatly surpasses the overwhelming pain you had in your last days on earth. Shalom, brother. You were an excellent man.

Jimmy was with the FL Fish and Game Comm when I first met him. He was flying a B47 at the time so that tells you how long ago it was. I was with the PBSO Aviation Unit. He eventually left the FGC to join the PBSO Aviation Unit. He came on board to pilot the new B412 the county was getting for medical which was the original "Trauma Hawk" and we were so lucky to have him. We were in 412 training in Ft Worth when a bunch of us went to Billy Bobs after class one night and somehow or another the next day everybody in class was called a something Bob, even one of the instructors we called Alicia Bob. So that's how I started calling Jimmy "Jim Bob" and it has stuck ever since. Even all the other pilots and friends were calling him "Jim Bob". I never knew if he was offended by it because he was such a happy go lucky guy he never showed a temper or was known to get angry. Jim Bob and I became good friends and I got to know his family over the years who he truly loved and was so proud of. I know Jim Bob is hovering around somewhere up in heaven right now, farewell my friend.

I will not speak of you in past tense, because you are more alive than ever, and there is only a thin veil between us and you. I might be a little bit jealous with you, Lillie and Barbara up there, and I didn't get invited. I always knew you to be a true Pentecostal, because you could not stand anything to be called Pentecostal, if it was not. Your encouragement kept me going so many times. I was just talking to you at the North Texas District Council in June...I didn't know you were about to "graduate," especially with your Master's Degree! Marilyn, you left me in shock, but it is wrapping up, and I will see you in days. So "count years as months, count the months as weeks, count the weeks as days, any day now, we TOO will be going home." I will see you 'THERE." You all shout for me, until I can touch down with you. It feels like a little bit of Pentecost shifted upward. Cannot say goodbye, only see you soon. You made me feel loved and special every time I saw you. I knew church was going to be better when you walked in, because you are a carrier of the ministry of PRESENCE. "I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as I live, my Pentecostal friend you will be." Travis, I wish I could find the words I need to say here. I had a wonderful opportunity to speak at your service--All I know is that there are not words that I can compose which are powerful enough to express my sense of loss and sadness. I've thought for days and days after your service, after reaching out to others to do so as well, but I just am so at a loss here. I can remember how proud you were when you first showed me pictures of Tristan after he was born--and I was just so so in awe and blown away by how much he looked like you; I just so sorely regret that we won't get to share the same experience again--any experience. While I hurt and feel so deeply for my loss, it is is difficult to compare to the hurt and sadness II feel for all those around you who loved you; who needed you. Those of us who've been left without you. We'll forever carry on your memory and everything we gained through our times together. Felicia, I am so so sorry that you've lost your husband, your soulmate--I can't begin to understand how that must feel and I wish there were just some way for me to take that pain and bear it for you. I know it seems impossible right now, but you will make it through this. All you have to do is try your best, that's the most anyone could ever ask of you. We're all here for you. To Travis' Mother, Father, and Brother: I offer you my sincerest and deepest condolences; I can only imagine that this must be a a tragedy unparalleled and without comparison for you. It is my greatest hope that this allows you all to grow closer--I hope that we are able to keep in touch some how; I would love to visit you or at least know that you're well! To Tristan: Be strong my friend. I'm so sorry for your loss. If it is any comfort, you can always contact me or any of your Dad's friends or family, if you need to talk and hear some neat things about your Dad you may not have known. Just remember: being strong has a lot of different meanings--part of it is just giving yourself time to be and to feel. You have so many people that watched you grow up that want nothing more but to be there for you--so many you haven't even met yet! Just never forget that we're here! Finally, I love ya Travis; I will never forget you! Ever.

I’ve tried hard to put many things down, none of it seems to come out the way I’d like for it to, as if it wouldn’t do him justice. I knew him only at Father Lopez - and to be honest, during those times, wished I could be more like him - he walked so confidently, got along with everyone, was funny and intelligent, and simply just awesome. I remember wishing I could be similar one day - his uniqueness really stood out, and I felt honored to be able to talk with him, and his friends. High school is tough for many, people like him made it easier. To his family and closest friends, I know I’m not even scratching the surface to describing him - I’m sorry for everyone’s loss - knowing the impact he had on me, I can’t begin to imagine the impact on you all. My prayers go out to all his family and his friends. Travis, thanks for being a cool guy and having time for me back then. See you up there one day, dude.

Before Norb married my sister Jan, and we were living in Krum and our father was in the dairy business, Norb came flying over in a small plane. Not low enough to bother the cows. I saw Jan out in the yard waving her arms wanting him to leave. Being the good little brother that I was, I ran to the house and got a shot gun. When she saw it, she started crying. I told her that daddy was going to shoot the damn thing down. Of course, he did not send me after the gun.

Some people walk this earth looking for anyone that can help them in this life. Either they lack confidence in themselves or they just need someone by their side to hold their hand. Nelson you were the exact opposite. You thrived on helping others. You helped others with all kinds of things without question. Sometimes you did things for people without them even asking for help. Like that time you went and bought Uncle Manuel a new tv for the garage. Uncle Manuel was happy and content with his 13” tv. If anyone ask Uncle Manuel if he wanted a new tv, he would have said no. But you, out of the blue, showed up with a brand new tv. Uncle Manuel was to ecstatic and thankful. Or that time you happened to stop by just as I was changing the door knobs on my house. In my own independent self, I argued that I got this (we both knew I had no idea what I was doing) and you told me to step back. I was so thankful that you did because I had already stripped the screws for one knob. Funny thing is you always showed up at exactly the time I needed you without me even asking. You always laughed at my independence and stepped in anyway to lend a hand. I’m so grateful for all the wonderful memories you left in my heart. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in heaven. I love you cousin!

Words cannot express the overwhelming of sadness I'm feeling. When I feel sad & the tears begin to flow, I'm reminded of the kind & wise words of wisdom that Becky would give me. Although she may have been immersed in troubles of her own,she always managed to have time for me & was eager with an open ear. Lord knows she didn't candy coat her opinion, and for that I'm truly thankful. Nonetheless, she always showed me kindness & never failed to say: "I Love You Billy." I'm honored to have had the joy & privilege of calling Becky my sister & friend. She was rooted in true joy & loving others with compassion was her strongest trait. She was not only my sister, but a true friend to me indeed! I'm comforted in knowing that although she cannot walk back here to us,--one day we will see her again when we walk "HOME" to her. Where I know she will be waiting to greet us with open arms. YOUR LOVING BROTHER, Billy (Rusk,TX.)

My most fond memory is sharing the lake trips with her and then going back to the house and sitting at the "kids table" and fighting over German Potato Salad with William and Uncle Willi. That was my favorite thing and she always made time for me and always saved me a bowl whenever I wanted it and treated me with unwavering love as she did her other grandkids. Making me feel included and never missing a beat to chat about anything that made her laugh. I'll miss her laughter and my favorite line "I don't believe it" in her strong accent whenever she was shocked about something. I'm sorry, we have to lay to rest this wonderful woman but will carry her in my heart forevermore. From my family, my mom, and I God Bless Oma Brown and sorry for your loss. My favorite memory was every Sunday afternoon in my youth. As we would go over grandmother’s house to have one of the many dishes she made after church. The food was rich but her company was richer. Those are all still my favorite dishes today. Her house was warm and welcoming. I had a lot of fun with family and with her. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, even cried. She loved bringing people together and especially loved when all the family was together. I remember Oma as the grandmother that always prayed, never complained, trusted God and would never miss a chance to tell someone else about him. She modeled this faith for me in my youth. Only a few years ago she even evangelized with me after it snowed several inches, that showed her heart for God late in life. She is an amazing example, who had such a testimony in the way she lived. My grandmother is a tremendous person and I will miss her very, very much!

To Teri and family. I am deeply sorry for your loss. It is in these moments we realize just how precious time is, we take for granted that our loved ones will always be there. Russell was quite a unique person. I loved his Eastern baroque and that fedora he sported. He was the only person I met that put honey in his coffee. He and I went to get our hair cut once, I recall him saying, I am sure Gale isn’t here, she doesn’t like it this sort. I told him to put the hat on, no one will notice. After reading the obituary, I wish I would have asked more questions . What a novel his life story would make. He will be missed and definitely not forgotten. He was and is a blessing to you all. Godspeed to the family, may the Good Lord send a host of angels to comfort you all.

Sir Russell, While I’ve not seen you in a few decades, I can distinctly hear your stern voice press out, “THERESA!” Yeah. ~insert fun sigh here~ That’s usually how you exclaimed your sincere approving pride to is as we ALWAYS made such fabulous choices!! Wink wink. You opened your home and heart to me while you raised your own girls who also opened their homes and hearts to me. You were outnumbered and drowning in estrogen but maintained your masculine role. Thank you for raising Teri to be who she is. Through her, your memory will always be cherished and memorialized with Bekah, Marcella, and Amy. I know where you are, now, (said Russell never of me and Teri in high school!!!) and your messages of comfort for her have brought peace. Rock on with those awesome mountains you now soar over and keep your eye on Teri and Bekah. I’m joyful knowing that you, Mom, Dad, Walter, Dejana, and Pops are all peacefully making fun of us sharing stories!!! Love eternally, Kelli B

Grand-pop you always maintained your mysterious way's, I could never quite figure you out always wondering who you were. Especially watching you work your ham radios and Morse code machine while watching the smoke of your cigarette float in the air. You were such a bada** to me and will be missed greatly by all of us. You always showed me what hard work was when you directed us to pick up sticks in the huge yard you use to have in Jessup Maryland. I know I complained a lot about it at the time, but looking back at it, you showed me how to suck it up and to keep moving (hard work). I know we lost our ways as we grew older, but I’m sure with more time we would have figured it out. I love you Grand-pop thanks for playing with Pantelis like you did, he will always remember his water gun fight with you. May you fly high with the angels and continue to watch over us. I Love You, You’re Grandchild Sean Sturgill

I’ll always remember Kyle as someone who knew no stranger. When we first met as coworkers working for AT&T it felt like working with someone I knew for a long time. I immediately realized how much we had in common so it was no surprise we became friends. We shared an interest in sports, guns and being surrounded by friends. The hunting trips, visits to the gun shows and boxing/UFC fight nights are things I will miss. What I’ll miss the most is sharing a phone call full of laughter and chatting about the brisket or ribs we smoked last weekend. My condolences to Maddison and all of his family and friends.

Kyle was the best friend a person could have. I met him in 7th grade and we became best friend. We hung out nearly every day. We worked our first jobs together and I just have so many great memories with him. I remember standing in his driveway the day he left for Texas. I thought we would probably lose touch after that, but thankfully we did not! Every time I saw him it was like he never left! It's hard to find friend like that. He was my best man at my wedding, became friends with my wife, my kids loved him. I still check my phone everyday halfway expecting to see a message from him. He was a blessing to everyone who knew him. I'm glad we got to spend some time together not too long ago, I could tell he was so happy. You will be greatly missed bud, until we see eachother again, goodbye for now...
