Walter Jones, 83, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021.

 

Visitation and Fellowship: Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Fort Worth, TX.

 

Walter was born in Weatherford, Texas to Delcena and John Dargan Jones, where he was raised with his brother Johnny and sister Sue. He was a multi-sport athlete and graduate of Weatherford High School.

 

He later met and married Deana Mars, his wife of more than 60 years. In 1960, he and Deana moved to Azle, TX where they raised their daughter Sherry.

 

Walter pursued a career in sales with the Greenlight Company and ultimately became President of the organization. In retirement, he discovered his true passion, restoring and showing classic cars. He and Deana shared this hobby with wonderful friends across the metroplex.

 

Walter loved his family and friends, and will be remembered as larger than life yet always there to lend a hand. He was a Member of Masonic Lodge 1140 until 2005.

 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Deana, parents, and brother Johnny.

 

Survivors: Daughter, Sherry Jones Marks and her husband, Andrew; grandson, Chris Marks; sister Sue Jones Mills and her husband Jack; their daughter Kelly Mills Dougherty and her husband Patrick; many loving extended family members and friends.
