In lieu of flowers, please hold your family and friends close.

He was born to Jessie and Edward Przybyl August 5, 1948 in Hammond, Indiana.

Reg served in the Air Force for 22 years, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.  He first piloted KC135s in the Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  He spent 37 years flying planes for American Airlines.  He was one of the most senior pilots upon his retirement and was known as the “on time machine” for landing his flights as scheduled. He was selected to fly troops to Kuwait City during the Iraq War, and sports teams, like the Dallas Cowboys, to playoff games.

Reg was also the owner of Bedford’s Best Car Wash.  He took pride in posting clever signs on the billboard outside the car wash. The better the pun the better the sign!

While retired, Reg did not slow down.  He was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Azle.  He ushered the Saturday, 5pm service and was known as the “can man” for collecting cans to raise money for charity. Reg volunteered with the Gary Sinese foundation Snowball Express which brings children of fallen soldiers to Disney World.  When not traveling, Reg enjoyed working on his property, Przybyl Point on Eagle Mountain Lake.  He loved the lake, the outdoors, his dogs and raising turkeys and peacocks.

He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish or the Chicago Cubs.

Reg is survived by daughters, Lauren Przybyl Miller, Regan Przybyl and Kara Przybyl McIver; brothers, Thomas Przybyl, Edward Przybyl and sister, Carol Bodie.

He was preceded in death by son, Matthew Przybyl; sister, Jeannine Przybyl; brother, Lawrence Przybyl; mother, Jessie Przybyl and father, Edward Przybyl.

Reg’s final announcement to his passengers on his flights was always the same….

“Again, we sincerely appreciate you flying American.  We hope you had a good flight and hope to see you again soon.  Have a good day and Happy Trails.”
