In Lieu of flowers or gifts, the family respectfully request, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Marelda was the second of six children of Forest and Ida (McAlister) Hamilton.

She is survived by her son, Bill Still (Laura) of Lake Worth, Danny Still (Lisa), of Azle and daughter, Sue Gibson, of Fort Worth. Mom was also Grandma, Mamma, and Memee to five grandchildren: Ben Elder (Julie), Ryan Still (Veronica), Cole Still (Dori), Tracy Martinez (Gabriel) and Teresa Cook, and sixteen great grandchildren: Tabor Elder (Nicole), Logan Elder, Ethan Elder, Carter Still, William Still, Easton Still, Scarlett Still, Adam Amador, Joseph Amador, Gabriel Martinez Jr., Anthony Martinez, Samantha Martinez, Lee Martinez, Alexis Cook, Seth Cook and Kaleb Barnett.

January 10, 1952, she married Frank Still in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1957, they moved to Amarillo, Texas, where the children were all raised and went to school. Frank passed away March 10, 1974, after a 3 ½ year debilitating illness. During these years of his decline she rarely left his side. They were married 22 years. About a year after his death, Marelda bought two acres south of Amarillo, and moved a small house there. She remodeled it mostly herself and shortly after got a horse. She learned how to ride and spent many happy hours riding and caring for it.

During this time Marelda got a job at Maywood in Amarillo and there she met John Adams in 1976. They married in Amarillo, June 18, 1977. After they were married, Marelda worked at a doctor’s office as the doctor’s assistant. John passed away August 14, 2019. They were married 42 years.

Marelda was a wonderful mother and a kind, patient, caring and friendly person. Family regarded her as a selfless, godly woman. She will be greatly missed.

Marelda’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Fort Worth Wellness and Rehabilitation Center who took care of her for almost three years. Also, our heartfelt thanks go to Twilight Hospice Care for their special loving care of Marelda the last 9 months of her life.
