Jimmy was born on May 26, 1932 in Whitewright, Texas to Roscoe and Marcie (Carpenter) McLarry. Jimmy’s father was a farmer and she and the other children did their share of farm duties until they moved to Fort Worth when she was 17.  Jimmy attended school in the Savoy School District through her Sophomore year in High school. After the family moved to Fort Worth, she attended school in the Lake Worth School District.  After high school and through mutual friends, Jimmy was set up with her future husband, Wayne Marsh through letter correspondence since Wayne was in the Military. Jimmy said they got to know each other first through letters and meeting each other for the first time only affirmed they had fallen for each other.  Wayne Marsh (originally from Arkansas) and Jimmy McLarry married on November 18, 1952 and together in Texas, they began a home and a family. They had four children, two boys and two girls, which Wayne referred to as his perfect quartet.  Jimmy was a housewife and a wonderful mother, she did however work some outside the home from time to time including jobs at, Convair (now Lockheed Martin, job task: upholstery shop working directly on the B36 Peacemaker), Grandy’s restaurants (she was one of the Granny’s), Dillard’s, Panhandle Slim, Samson Park Elementary, Lake Worth schools, First Baptist Church Fort Worth Daycare, Proline Cap Co., Castleberry High School and babysitter and afterschool caregiver for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jimmy had many talents such as sewing, needlepoint, painting, and incredible drawing skills, but her real love was serving the Lord alongside her husband, Wayne for 60 plus years playing the piano in church.  She passed on her piano skills to some of her children and taught lessons to her grandchildren.  Jimmy loved the Lord and was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Granbury, TX. After moving to Fort Worth in March 2021, she attended Spring Valley Baptist Church until her recent passing.  Jimmy had more recently moved to Ridgmar Place Senior Living Apartments in Fort Worth, and she enjoyed having her own place again and gaining some independence.  She made several friends while living at the senior living apartments and made one very special friend named Joanne.  Jimmy looked forward to her daily lunch visits with Joanne and also her weekly Wednesday lunch dates and Church on Sunday with family.  Jimmy never stopped being a wise mother and grandmother, she was above all Godly, honest, forgiving, caring, sweet, and an encouraging woman.  She will be greatly missed and always loved and forever changed by her Godly example and testimony by all who knew her and loved her.

Jimmy was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Marsh; brother, Joe McLarry, sisters, Frances Pilgrim, Lois McLarry, Florine Monroe, Betty Gooding, and Mary Karle.

She is survived by her sons, Rickey Marsh and wife, Kathy and Richard Marsh and his wife, Leona Alexander; daughters, Rachel (Marsh) Daughtrey, and Regina (Marsh) Davison and her husband, Steve; sister, Helen Kipp; and 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
